It’s funny how some years the Pantone color choice receives more hoopla than others. That is certainly the case this year – because, let’s face it orange (and all of its variants) is the happiest color. Think bipartisan – not red, not blue; think instense sunshine, flowers and the first Volkswagon you owned… This is a color we all can love, even if not every one of us is able to wear. If you love orange as much as we do, you can find ways to incorporate its happy presence into your wardrobe by giving it a little distance from your face. Hmmm, shoes – perfect!

Pansy from Miz Mooz has been a stealthy hit. While the weather hasn’t been cooperating (we’ve yet to experience full-on spring here in Seattle), we assumed that sandals weren’t selling. But we are mistaken! A recent tour of the backroom shows that there are only 2 pairs of the lovely Pansy left! (Sizes 7 & 9 if you want to know We’ll check with Miz Mooz to see if we can re-order because if peeps are buying it while it’s freezing out, we think we have a superstar on our hands! (Did you know that a honeyflower and a pansy left by a lover for his beloved means “I am thinking of our forbidden love”? Maybe he should just leave a gift certificate for the Pansy from Miz Mooz instead!)

Spring break will always put me in the travel-state-of-mind. Almost as much fun as the trip itself, is the planning for it. We are seriously thinking of starting a support group for women who love their Miz Mooz sandals too much! My friend Gail and I took Flamenco classes a few years ago and what did I learn? That Flamenco dancing is much harder than it looks! And it takes special shoes. Shoes that can only be worn inside and on the dance floor. Heaven forbid if our teacher spotted you walking into her house with your dance shoes on! The other thing I learned? I’m much better at pretending to dance Flamenco, which happens to be quite fun! Pretending and playing dress-up just gets better with age, if you let it!
