Chie Mihara is one of our favorite designers, and we know the same is true for you. Every season, getting our shipment from the Spanish designer is like unwrapping all of our Christmas and birthday presents at once – this season is no different!
One of our new shoe loves is the Chie Mihara Mapa. Its Mary Jane style and funky print are the perfect marriage of 50s retro and bohemian – a combination we didn’t think was possible until now! Check out two different ways we’ll wear the shoe this season, and then come visit us or order online for a pair of your own – Chie Mihara go quickly
Daytime: a nod to vintage with a twist
We love pairing prints with prints! A polka dot blouse paired with this season’s high-waisted jean trend are a perfect match for the Mapa. Throw in a leather jacket to modernize the look and cheeky jewelry to top it off!
Nighttime: bohemian transition outfit
This time of year, we’re longing for warm weather here in Seattle. A transitional outfit like this can be worn with or without tights (depending on how well the weather gods are behaving). We love that a long sleeve, bright dress lends a pop of color, and at the same time provides a base for some seriously fun accessories – hello printed shoes, fringe bag and statement necklace.
How would you style the Mapa? Tell us on Facebook!

We want spring! We’re ready for color and flowers and just a bit of warm weather. Until we can bare our feet in skimpy sandals, we can choose a shoe that reminds us that spring is coming. This red clog from Swedish Hasbeens is just the ticket, don’t you think? (Shown here with Prairie Underground’s Forties Coveralls.)

Off to sunny Las Vegas to shop for cold weather footwear. (We know it’s strange!) The things we’re keeping a look-out for: wedge booties that fit low and close to the ankle; booties that fit low and close to the ankle in general; dressy shoes for holiday parties; and as always – we’re searching for the perfect black flat. What are you looking for? Let us know on Facebook and Pinterest what you wanted last season, but just couldn’t find.

We love Keeper Goods for their good looks, their practicality and because designer / owner Phyllis Chu utilizes earth-friendly PET and makes everything right here in Seattle. Phyllis believes that it’s important to keep the things that mean something to you (the compact mirror your grandmother gave you, the hankie that was your friend Helen’s) close to you, and in style. We applaud this sentiment, and hereby vote the Keeper Goods’ clutch one of the best gifts to give your gal pals this V-day. Who doesn’t need the all-important clutch you can throw into your bigger bag or a tote? We know we do, and suspect that you do too!

January in Seattle makes us want to grab a cheap flight someplace tropical, NOW! Sometimes just fantasizing about it is like a little shot of sunshine. While indulging in travel fantasy, it doesn’t matter how much you pack – so throw in that pair of high heels In real life, though, we want to travel light, unencumbered – and that means 2 (yes, only 2!) pairs of shoes. We think that’s why a sandal or flat in a metallic or patent finish has been a best seller for the past few travel seasons – it covers a lot of bases: cute with your beach cover-up, cute with your jeans, cute with a casual dress. And if you really need to pack that pair of heels, do it if you have room!
The Arena Fitflop in black patent makes a great getaway shoe. Available in store only.

We want to wear the Forties Coverall from Prairie Underground everyday! Do you think anyone would notice? Of course they would because it’s the coolest jumpsuit ever! Wear to runaround town with your sneaks, or lower the zip a bit, add lace and heels and it would be super fun cocktail attire. We’re sure you can think of many reasons why you need to own it – we have

Considering the blustery weather we’ve been experiencing, nothing sounds better than snuggling up with a pile of cashmere. Thankfully, we’ve found Mere Basics‘ underpinnings so you can layer cozy cashmere under your favorite dresses and tops taking this little bit of luxury with you wherever you go – because every Northwest gal knows a little cold weather doesn’t mean she can stay home under the blankets (every day).
Being the great friends that we are, we’re sharing our new favorite with you at a trunk show on Saturday, January 18th with Mere Basics designer Kathleen Baxley - NOON to 5 p.m. See you there!

Our advice about what to wear for a special occasion? Start with the shoes. Especially these shoes – the Amasa from Chie Mihara! Pair with simple black (you have something that fits this category, right?) and you’ve just elevated your look to “special” by 100%. Two trends we’re loving – black and gold, and wearing black to weddings. We’ve just helped you figure out what to wear to your sister’s wedding
