Chemical Wedding Chemical Wedding’s handbags and belts explore the magic of uncommon style. Self-described alchemists Jon and Tracy Haaland create from a collaboration of diverse materials and ideas. Mixing new and repurposed leather, the Seattle designers handcraft bags with off-the-beaten-path textures and motifs. Tracy and Jon share a history in printmaking and painting; he’s painted custom wall coverings, and she’s illustrated a children’s book. Jon studied at Seattle’s Cornish College of the Arts, and Tracy earned a BFA from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. In 2003, they partnered together to form Chemical Wedding. Their progressive accessories are wrought with timeless traditions: bags are seasoned with distressed, rugged sweetness, and belts are hip, artesian medleys of hardware and adorned leather.
